WHEN WE WERE 36
WAVES EXHIBITED
After completing the pre-release series RUNWAY 5, emerging artist ATB officially debuted SOULED in the historic Loudoun House of Lexington, Kentucky at WHEN WE WERE 36.
The name of the event was an unsubtle triple nod to the age of his father when he broke his neck, the age of the artist when he began working on SOULED, and the 3 WAVES (totaling 36 WORKS) debuted that evening.
WHEN WE WERE 36 featured the first three WAVES from SOULED in immersive viewing galleries. The event concluded with the live performance of the WAKE for WAVE 0.9 under a night sky. At midnight, 30 years to the day his father broke his neck, the artist made the first WORK from WAVE 1 available for $1.
Admission to the event was free to the public. Suggested attire was black and white (formal, dress, or casual). Photography was prohibited and phones discouraged to enhance the experience.
