Memory is the story you tell yourself about yourself. It’s the feelings, not the facts. It’s a shadow cast by time, dancing unpredictably against the edges of your mind.

Eventually, you’ll forget to remember the steps the way they were and remember only what they’ve become. You’ll tell yourself a new story, because it was never really about the dance.

It’s always been about the song that plays when you try to remember the steps.

HOW TO REMEMBER THE STEPS is the eleventh WAVE of SOULED.

It debuted during HOMECOMING — a three-day solo exhibition at the historic Loudoun House in Lexington, Kentucky, USA.

The opening event for WAVE 11 took place on Saturday, September 28, from 7 to 11 PM, postponed 24 hours due to the remnants of Hurricane Helene. During which, attendees had an exclusive opportunity to purchase the first WORKS from HOW TO REMEMBER THE STEPS before they were made available to the general public at 11 PM.

The following Saturday, The Scout Guide Lexington and Scouted Café hosted an unexpected sequel event called HOMECOMING: REVERB with music, mimosas, and all 12 WORKS from WAVE 11. The WAVE remained at Scouted Café until its closing on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
